About Televisi Republik Indonesia (TVRI)
Televisi Republik Indonesia – TVRI is a reputable state-owned television station in Indonesia. The Station also operates as the first television station in Indonesia, which was established in 1962 and formed by the government of Indonesia. TVRI headquartered in Jakarta and situated in Jl Gerbang Pemuda Senayan Jakarta. Currently TVRI has 1 Central Station and 27 regional stations nationwide. The Station also supported by 376 transmission units scattered throughout the territory of Indonesia. As of December 2007, TVRI employeed 6,099 dedicated human resources, consists of 5,085 the Civil Servants (PNS) and 1,014 contract staff across the Country.
Televisi Republik Indonesia (TVRI) was the first television station in Indonesia, which airs on August 24, 1962. Broadcast premiere broadcast Ceremony of Indonesian Independence Day to the 17 of the State Palace in Jakarta. Broadcasting is still in the form of black and white. TVRI then covered the Asian Games held in Jakarta.
Previously TVRI ever serve ads in a special display titled release shows Mana Likes Commerce (twice a day). Since April 1981 until the late 90’s TVRI not allowed to show ads, and eventually returned to serve ads TVRI. TVRI status is currently Public Broadcasting. Some operational costs are still borne by the state TVRI.
Background
- In 1961, the Indonesian government decided to put the project into the television media Asian Games IV development project under the coordination of the project concern the Asian Games IV.
- On July 25, 1961, the Minister of Information issued Decree No. Menpen. 20/SK/M/1961 on the establishment of the Preparatory Committee for Television (P2T).
- On October 23, 1961, President Soekarno, who was in Vienna to send a telex to the Ministry of Information at the time, to immediately prepare Maladi television projects (at the time of preparation time only 10 months) with the following schedule:
- . Building a studio in the former AKPEN in Senayan (TVRI now).
- . Build two transmitters: 100 watt and 10 Kw to 80 meter tower.
- . Prepare software (programs and personnel).
- On August 17, 1962, TVRI broadcast began a trial to show the seventeenth anniversary of the Proclamation of Independence of Indonesia Merdeka Palace courtyard, with a backup transmitter power of 100 watts. Then on August 24, 1962, TVRI airs for the first time with the show broadcast live the opening ceremony of the Asian Games IV Bung Karno main stadium.
- On October 20, 1963, issued Presidential Decree. 215/1963 on the establishment of the Leadership Foundation TVRI General President.
- In 1964 began the construction pioneered Regional Broadcasting Station began with station TVRI Yogyakarta, which respectively followed by Station Medan, Surabaya, Makassar, Manado, Denpasar, and Balikpapan.
