Bantul District Hospital was founded in 1953 as the RS hongeroedem (HO), then in 1956 officially became a district hospital with 60 beds (TT), in 1967 to 90 TT

Dated April 1, 1982 the Indonesian Minister of Health unveiled a Type D Bantul District Hospital, dated February 26, 1993 set as the RS Type C (Minister of Health Decree No. 202 / Menkes / SK / 11/1993 and passed the full accreditation in November 1995 to 5 Working Groups

On January 1, 2003 to RS Swadana with Regulation 8 dated June 8, 2002, and on March 29, 2003 changed its name to RSD Panembahan Senopati Bantul

Bantul is a town and the capital of Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta Province, Java, Indonesia. It is a bustling town about 10 km to the south of Yogyakarta, easily reached by regular minibuses from the main Yogyakarta bus station. Bantul has numerous firms and agencies (service stations and garages, banks, schools, medical clinics, government offices) which supply services to the surrounding area. A main road runs down from Yogyakarta through Bantul to the busy beach area of Parangtritis visited by many tourists from Yogyakarta each weekend.
