About PT Semen Baturaja (Persero)
PT Semen Baturaja (Persero) or Semen Baturaja is one of the Indonesian state-owned cement based manufacturing company. The Company founded in 14 November 1974 by PT Semen Gresik with 45% shares and PT Semen Padang with 55% shares. In 1991, all shares was taken over by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia.
PT Semen Baturaja (Persero) established on November 14, 1974 by PT. Semen Gresik’s shares 45% and PT. Semen field 55%. On 9 November 1979 Company status changed from Domestic Capital Investment (Domestic Investment) into the composition Persero share 88% of the Government of Indonesia, PT. Semen Padang and PT 7%. Semen Gresik 5%. Since 1991 was taken over entirely by the Government of Indonesia.
Production at PT Semen produced by Baturaja (Persero) is a Type I Portland Cement and Portland Composite Cement (QMS) with factory located in Baturaja, Palembang and Panjang. Production center located in Baturaja namely herring production. While the cement grinding process and other Pengantongan implemented in Palembang Factory and ready for the next term is distributed to areas of marketing.
For completion of existing equipment in order to achievement tepasang taker capacity 500,000 tons of cement per year, while preparing to increase installed capacity of PT Semen Baturaja (Persero) to implement Project Optimization I (OPT l). This project started in 1992 and completed in 1994 with an installed capacity increased to 550,000 tons of cement per year.
As a follow-up project OPT I, in 1996 Company implemented Optimization Project II (OPT II), to increase the capacity to be as large as 1.25 million tons of cement per year. OPT Project II selesi in 2001 and was in production until now.
The form of raw material production and Clay Limestone obtained from mining Limestone and Clay owned Company which is located only 1.2 miles from the factory in Baturaja.
