About PT Pupuk Kujang
PT Pupuk Kujang was established on June 9, 1975 with the U.S. $ 260 million is a loan from the Government of Iran of U.S. $ 200 million, and the Government Equity (PMP) Indonesia amounted to U.S. $ 60 million. Loans to the Government of Iran was settled in 1989. The first fertilizer plant construction Kujang which later was named plant with a production capacity of PKC 1A 570 000 tons / year of urea and 330,000 tonnes / year of ammonia development carried out by the main contractor Kellogg Overseas Corporation (USA) and Toyo Engineering Corporation (Japan). Construction of Factory Kujang 1A was successfully constructed over 36 months and was inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia on December 12, 1978. PT Pupuk Kujang is a subsidiary of state-owned fertilizer company in Indonesia, PT Indonesia Fertilizers Holding Company.
As progress in the age of the older plants, a consequence to the imposition of higher maintenance costs and down time is increasing as well. Overcoming the problem requires substantial funds mainly for replacement and reconditioning some core equipment. To anticipate such problems PT Pupuk Kujang has developed an action plan so that the continuity of the business can continue to run. One plan that has been implemented is the replacement of the urea reactor in 2001 and the construction of Plant Kujang 1B. Plant Development 1B Kujang with a production capacity of 570,000 tonnes / year of urea and 330,000 tonnes / year of ammonia carried by the main contractor Toyo Engineering Corporation (TEC) Japan and supported by two (2) contractors in the country, PT Engineering Industries and PT Inti Karya Persada Engineering. Plant Development 1B Kujang taken within 36 months, starting on October 1, 2003 until 6 September 2005. Apart from the equity owned by PT Pupuk Kujang, project funding is obtained from the loan Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) amounting to JPY 27,048,700,000. Inauguration Factory Kujang 1B conducted by the President of the Republic of Indonesia on April 3, 2006.
On January 4, 2011, PT Pupuk Kujang did Loans Refinancing Kujang 1B plant through the Take Over by four national banks. This is a step to avoid fluctuations in foreign debt on the foreign currency, the yen, and a direction of the shareholders as well as the implementation of the SOE Ministry Letter no. With Refinancing Loans, PT Pupuk Kujang borrowed Rp 1.9 trillion to the national 4 banks namely Bank BRI, BNI, Mandiri and BCA. The money is used to buy the yen and debt to JBIC. PT Pupuk Kujang payment plan to the 4 national banks will be made within a period of 8 years from 2012 to 2019.
The main raw material in the manufacture of urea is gas, water and air. The three raw materials are processed to produce ammonia and urea eventually become. Provision of natural gas from the gas company Pertamina and other private sources taken from the sea off the coast of Java, while the raw water taken from Perum Jasa Tirta II Jatiluhur-Purwakarta.
To take advantage of the operational excesses Fertilizer Plant Kujang he built several subsidiaries which is a Joint Venture with the private sector in the country and abroad. Currently PT Pupuk Kujang have 5 (five) which is a subsidiary of a joint venture with the private sector, namely: PT survive Kurama Prime producing Formic Acid, PT Multi Nitrotama Chemicals which produce Ammonium Nitrate and Nitric Acid, PT Pratama Indonesia to produce Hydrogen Peroxide Peroxide, PT Kujang Sud-Chemie Catalysts are producing Catalyst, and the last is PT Kujang Cikampek Industrial Estate which manages the land in the area of ??PT Pupuk Kujang.
Given the cost of production of urea is higher than the highest retail price (HET), the Government is providing subsidy through the Minister of Finance No.. 122/KMK.02/2006 dated December 7, 2006, on the Procedure for Calculation and Payment of Fertilizer Subsidy in FY 2006 to change the pattern of the gas subsidy to the price subsidy, the subsidized price of the subsidies from the Government for the fertilizer industry is all the production costs including raw material prices main natural gas plus a margin of 10% and distribution costs reduced by Retail Price.
According to Minister for Trade Sector. 17/MDAG/PER/6/2011, about Subsidized Fertilizer Procurement and Distribution, and Government Director of PT Fertilizer Sriwidjaja (Limited) No.. U-909/A00000.UM/2011 dated August 11, 2011 that as of September 1, 2011, the Province of West Java became the responsibility of local PT Pupuk Kujang.
The strategic position of the company is located in the province of West Java and adjacent to the capital Jakarta to be one challenge, given the West Java as the national granary should be supported by an adequate supply of fertilizers so that the National Food Security can be guaranteed.
Regarding the price, highest retail price of subsidized urea fertilizer based on the Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture. 87/Permentan/SR.130/12/2011 is Rp 1.800/Kg. While ammonia, which is an excess of ammonia production is processed into urea, mostly channeled to PT Multi Nitrotama Chemistry and partly sold to the region of West Java, East Java and exported in small (small cargo)
In accordance with the directives of the Letter of the Director General of the Ministry of Agriculture Infrastructure Agriculture. 712/SR.130/B.5/8/2011 dated August 23, 2011 regarding tinting Subsidized urea, PT Pupuk Kujang as at January 1, 2012 to be subsidized urea fertilizer color is pink (pink). The goal is to control the fertilizer could be easier. Dye fertilizer used in this process using ingredients Food-edible-grade or safe for consumption, it is not toxic to plants, not to change the existing content of nutrients in fertilizer, and in accordance with the Indonesian National Standard (SNI).
The activities carried out by PT Pupuk Kujang are:
Production
Cultivate certain raw materials into basic materials required in the manufacture of fertilizers, especially urea and other chemicals, and process the staple into various types of fertilizers and other chemicals results.
Trade
Organizing distribution and trading activities, both inside and outside the country associated with the above-mentioned products and other products and the import of goods which include raw materials and auxiliary / helper, production equipment and other chemicals.
Provision of Services
Conducting research studies, development, engineering design, packing, construction, management, operation of the factory, the manufacturer / repair, maintenance, consulting (except legal consultation) and other technical services in the fertilizer industry and other chemical industries.
Other Business
