Perum LKBN Antara (Kantor Berita Antara) – Public Company National news agency Antara (or abbreviated Perum LKBN Antara) represents the news in Indonesia, which is owned by the Government of Indonesia. Naamloze Vennootschap (NV) Antara news agency was established on December 13, 1937 by AM Sipahoetar, Soemanang, Adam Malik and Pandoe Kartawigoena, when the spirit of national independence is driven by the young fighters. As the first director at the time was Sugondo Djojopuspito (a former student of RH at 33 years old at the time, my friend and former student Soemanang RH), while Adam Malik (journalist, 20 years old at the time) was a deputy (Editors).
In 1962, the Antara news agency officially became the National which is directly under the President of the Republic of Indonesia. Antara national news agency Antara, abbreviated LKBN is the largest news agency in Indonesia, that are semi-government, although when it was first established by journalists during the Dutch colonial nationalists before WWII entirely a private enterprise.
In order to take advantage of business opportunities and to face the challenges of media convergence as well as to the task pencerdasan nations, the government under the leadership of H. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono to change the status of a company LKBN Antara General (Housing) on July 18, 2007 through PP 40/2007.
In order to be a healthy company, LKBN Antara began compiling Balance Opener completed two years after the publication of Decree of the Minister of Finance by the end of September 2009. Since the publication of the Opening Balance Sheet, financial performance can be monitored by Antara LKBN its shareholders.
