A Brief History of Merpati Nusantara Airlines
Beginning November 1958, Prime Minister of Indonesia Ir. H. Djuanda officially inaugurated the “Air Bridge of Kalimantan,” linking the remote areas in Kalimantan because of difficulties of other transportation modes in that region. The task that was entrusted to the Air Force of Republic of Indonesia to develop the Air Bridge in Kalimantan, had been gaining ground in the history of the national air transport development. The Following development which was achieved by virtue of Government Regulation No. 19 year 1962, dated on September 6, 1962, PN Merpati Nusantara was established as a State Owned-Company and its main task was carrying out “multi purpose inter regional air transportation,” with emphasis on serving the public.
The first assets asset of company consisted of four aircraft De Havilland Otter DHC-3, and two DC-3 Dakota supervised by the Indonesia Air force and Garuda Technician. The first operational task was to link Jakarta with Banjarmasin, Pangkalanbun, and Sampit, and Jakarta-Pontianak.
In 1963, when Irian Barat was transferred from the Dutch to the Indonesian Government, NV De Kroonduif, the Dutch Airline Company in Irian Barat was handed over to the GIA, including six aircraft consisting of 3 Dakota DC-3s, 2 Twin Pioneer and a Beaver. Because of Garuda’s concentration on developing itself as a flag carrier. The airline gave all the concessions flights in Irian Barat and technical facilities to the Merpati.
In 1963 Merpati expanded its network linking Jakarta-Semarang, Jakarta-Tanjung Karang, and Palangkaraya, Balikpapan, and also opened new routes in Irian Barat.
Merpati fleet In 1966 was strengthened by three Dornier DC-28 and six Pilate Porter PC-6, increasing its fleet to 15 aircrafts, effectively in operation supported by 600 employees while the Area of Operation was expanded to include Java, Kalimantan, South Sumatera, West Nusa Tenggara and Irian Jaya.
1969 Merpati divided into two areas of operation: Operation MIB (Merpati Irian Barat) and MOB operation (Merpati Operation Barat), encompassing Java, Kalimantan, Surabaya, Sulawesi and Nusa Tenggara. This Division into two areas it was meant to improve the operation, administration, and control. In accordance with the developments of its activities and functions, Merpati than changed its name to Merpati Nusantara Airlines, and since then the name of MNA had become known to public.
In order to support the government in the execution of the general election (Pemilu) in 1969 in remote areas which were difficult to be reached by other transportation modes, particularly in Irian Jaya, Merpati took an active part in the air transportation of the general election material and personnel.

- Mastering in HTML, XML, C/C++ and Java
Experienced Flight Attendant
Requirements
- Female, with max age 35 years old, Good looking
- Min SMA / equivalent
- Minimum height 160 cm and max 170 cm with proportional of weight
- Not wearing glasses / contact lenses
- Not wearing braces and not tattooed
- Have a valid license for at least 6 months for Boeing Classic / Series rating
- At least 1 year experience as a Flight Attendant
