Perusahaan Umum Jasa Tirta II or Perum Jasa Tirta II or PJT II is a reputable state-owned water resources management company in Indonesia. The Company’s head office is located in Purwakarta West Java and supported by 7 bureau, 6 division and 5 working units. The Company also supported by 1 representative office, located in Jakarta. The Company’s working area covers 74 rivers in Northern West Java with the service area of PJT II is in 2 (two) provinces; the Province of West Java and DKI Jakarta, and covers East Jakarta, Bekasi, Karawang, Purwakarta, Subang, Indramayu, Sumedang, Bandung, Cianjur and Bogor.
History of PERUM JASA TIRTA II
Development of integrated water resources of rivers in the northern part of West Java as one Citarum River watershed as the primary source. Forms reservoir management, hydropower and irrigation network since it was formed in 1957 Jatiluhur until now are:
1. Jatiluhur Multipurpose Project (1957 – 1967)
National Projects Construction of Multipurpose Jatiluhur covering Main Dam and Hydroelectric Power Plant (HEPP) and medium irrigation systems declared over in 1967.
Jatiluhur Multipurpose Project is Phase I of the Development of Water Resources in the Region with the main objective Citarum increase national food production such as rice. To commemorate the services of one of the Best Putra Bangsa Indonesia Dams and Hydropower Jatiluhur inaugurated as Ir. H. Djuanda.
2. State enterprise / PN Jatiluhur (1967 – 1970)
In order for the potential arising from the completion of hydropower projects can be operated optimally Jatiluhur then formed with the name of the State Agency for State Enterprise (PN) Jatiluhur based on Government Regulation No. 8 of 1967, dated July 24, 1967.
3. Housing “Jatiluhur Authority” (1970 – 1999)
As a Business Entity, at the time PN. Jatiluhur in an effort should be seeking profits. Provision of water for agriculture that is socially cultivated commercially, so that the management of water resources become harmonious and project main objective was not achieved. In order for the utilization and development of potentials that arise carried out effectively and efficiently the management is to be based on economic principles that can be justified to the public. With that, the Government formed Public Company under the name “Jatiluhur Authority”.
With the establishment of POJ, then Badan-badan/Proyek-proyek and agencies are located in the area of ??development and the duties and obligations concerning the objectives, tasks and business field POJ, absorbed in POJ. These bodies are Jatiluhur Irrigation Project (Ministry of Works), Jatiluhur Tertiary Irrigation Project (Ministry Dagri), PN. Jatiluhur (Ministry of Industry), Department of Public Works-Region West Java Purwakarta (West Java).
4. Perum Jasa Tirta II (1999 – present)
Housing Authority Jatiluhur established by Government Regulation No. 20 Year 1970, then adapted by Government Regulation No. 35 Year 1980 and again in 1990 adjusted by Government Regulation No. 42.
With the issuance of Government Regulation No. 13 Year 1998 on General Company, the POJ modified and customized with the name of Perum Jasa Tirta II (PJT II) based on Government Regulation No. 94 Year 1999. PJT II Nature of business is to provide services for the benefit of the public and at the same time seeking profits based on the principles of corporate governance.
