April 26, 2006 was born the law No. 02 of 2006 on the First Amendment of East Kalimantan Provincial Regulation No. 02 of 2002 on Regional Development Bank of East Kalimantan.
With the new legal basis for regulation 02 Th BI No. 2006 with a letter. 5/48/KEP.DGS/2003 dated November 13, 2003, BPD Kaltim improve its operational status to Foreign Banks.
Furthermore, based on Principles and Operational Permits Permits from Bank Indonesia stated in the letter BI Number: 8/5/DS/Smr dated November 27, 2006 and letter No. BI: 8/7/DS/Smr dated December 22, 2006, BPD Kaltim implement Sharia activities which officially opened on December 27, 2006.
BPD Kaltim Sharia Unit was named the BPD Kaltim Sharia, currently based in Jl. Jend. A Yani Samarinda.
